BioDream is the third of seven siblings, anthropomorphic personifications of facets of existence. From eldest to youngest, they are Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, twins Desire and Despair, and Delight. Each essentially oversees the administration of their namesake throughout existence, with the exception of Destruction, who abandoned his realm.
Dream oversees dreams, stories, imagination, inspiration, and secrets. His realm reflects this, and is inhabited by (among others) the archetypical First Man, First Woman (Eve), Cain and Abel as the eternal First Murderer and First Victim (who also tend to their houses, one built of mysteries, the other of secrets), the library of books never written (with a small annex holding all the books that were), and a slew of other creatures out of story, dream, or flight of fancy. It has also been said that Dream collects names the way others collect friends.
Being anthropomorphic personifications, the Endless appear differently depending upon who views them. He is rarely more than glimpsed, his likeness often haunting some surprised sleeper just long enough to put pen to paper before fading like smoke.

Some other than humans see Dream as a member of their race, or as their god of dreams. Some ancient Irken artists, for instance, have tried to capture their visions of the Prince of Stories.
